Biography

Vel Subramanian is an accomplished environmental engineer and adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, with over eight years of teaching experience in engineering economics, industrial wastewater treatment, and water quality modeling. He brings more than 30 years of industry expertise as associate and wastewater practice lead at Kimley-Horn, specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure. A recognized expert in wastewater treatment processes, Subramanian actively contributes to leading professional organizations including AAEES, NCEES, WEF, and CWEA, and has authored more than 20 technical publications. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and remains deeply committed to advancing environmental engineering through education, research, and professional practice.
