Connect with our advisory board, alumni, and student organizations to expand both your world and ours.

The Civil Engineering Institute (CEI) is an industry advisory group composed of leaders from industry, government, and academia. The CEI regularly engages with the department through meetings and events, offering membership opportunities, luncheon gatherings, annual reports, and avenues to support the CEIE department through giving.
Support CEIE
We encourage contributions that help shape the future by contributing through donations or hands-on involvement. Opportunities to give include sponsoring senior design projects, funding scholarships or distinguished fellowships, supporting faculty research, and equipping advanced laboratories.
Donors can also make a meaningful impact by sponsoring lecture series, supporting student travel, or honoring someone through naming opportunities.
Student Organizations
A variety of hands-on opportunities are available for CEIE students, such as prestigious internships with engineering firms, government bodies, and contractors. It also features the OSCAR program, which connects undergraduates with faculty mentors for research, creative activities, and potential funding.
Student Resources
CEIE students have access to key academic and support tools including academic advising for undergraduates and graduates, appointment scheduling, transfer credit guidance, contact information for advisors, as well as helpful documents and forms to assist with planning and student life at George Mason.
CEIE Alumni
We place strong value on its alumni, celebrating their accomplishments and maintaining active connections beyond graduation. Alumni are encouraged to stay engaged with the department through mentoring, networking, professional development opportunities, and participation in events.
