Mason’s Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering Department will give you the rigorous academic training and hands-on experience to launch a lucrative career. Our students develop skills and discover new technologies while establishing a foundation for life-long learning.
We offer bachelor of science, master of science, and doctor of philosophy degrees in civil and infrastructure engineering, as well as a minor in environmental engineering. Motivated students can get bachelor’s and master’s in five years through the accelerated master's program. Incoming graduate students can earn a master's in one year.
Undergraduates get hands-on experience from engineers, scientists, and industry experts, and they have research opportunities that culminate in a senior design project.
Our MS and PhD students work with our world-renowned professors who are experts in building sustainable and long-lasting infrastructure, monitoring structural conditions, and anticipating and reducing the impact of natural hazards.
All students benefit from our close relationship with the civil engineering industry in the Washington, D.C. area. They have opportunities for internships, summer jobs, and fulfilling careers.
