Biography
Cerasela Cristei PTOE is the Director of Transportation Engineering at ATCS. She is recognized as an effective, motivational leader and a team player with excellent analytical, organizational, team building, and planning skills. She completed her master’s and PhD degrees in civil engineering at George Mason University. Cerasela has over 30 years of experience in management, design, and engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer. Cerasela is also an adjunct professor at George Mason, where she shares her knowledge with future generations of engineers. She brings her insights and design experience in both land development and transportation engineering into the classroom. At ATCS, Cerasela leads the design team and oversees design efforts across multiple disciplines. Cerasela was the Professional Development Committee chair and, until January 2025 the treasurer of WTS-DC. She is the past president of the Potomac Section of ASHE and the Chair for the 2026 ASHE National Conference. She is also the past Chair and current Curriculum and Programs Committee Chair of the George Mason University Civil Engineering Institute, and helps the ASCE and the Engineers for International Development (EfID) student chapters.
